It remembers positional angles of a protected object and thus sounds an alarm when the object is tilted beyond an allowable angle. It is meant to protect any objects from thefts. The Diamond Dogs utilized these security systems on their Mother Base during the 1980s, to protect various devices from being stolen by competitors, especially via Fulton extraction.

The antitheft device is a developable security device in the game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, as part of the FOB gameplay mechanic. It requires 150000 GMP to develop, and 1500 GMP for usage. In addition, it is considered a grade 3 security device.
